Field Testing Superconductive Photo-Voltaics

I spotted some stealth research in superconductive photovoltaics taking place in Michigan.

This picture shows a research assistant clearing the insulating snow from the panels to allow the photo-voltaic cells to cool more rapidly and to become super-conductive in a Michigan winter.

Superconductivity is anticipated to allow PV cells to generate electricity from sky radiation, even at night, in a manner similar to radio telescopes.
